How to Maintain Eyebrows in Between Salon Visits

How to Maintain Eyebrows in Between Salon Visits
By Jesse F. Smith

When it comes to shaping our own eyebrows, most of us are stumped. Instead we faithfully go to the salon every times our eyebrows start to look too bushy without giving it another thought. This is because we are confused by all of the tools and products that salons use to keep our eyebrows looking great. There are some simple things that can be done, however, too reduce the amount of times we have to go back to the salon.

Eyebrow Tweezers

#1 Snip, snip! Some of us are embarrassed by ling, unruly eyebrow hairs. If this is the case, use an eyebrow brush, or an old toothbrush, to brush your eyebrows upward. Then take nail scissors and trim any hairs that fall outside of your natural eyebrow shape.

#2 Pluck, pluck and away! Tweezers are very necessary when it comes to maintaining eyebrows. Plucking involves removing stray hairs that fall outside of the natural eyebrow shape. Plucking eyebrows is less painful if you invest in quality tools. Good tweezers will make plucking effortless. To pluck your brows, place a hot washcloth over our brows to open up the pores. Then find a stray hair and pull, not yank, it in the direction that the hair is growing in. That is it! Repeat this process on other stray hairs you see.

#3 Filler up! This last step is optional. Sometimes, our eyebrows can look sparse or barely visible. The solution is an eye pencil or eye shadow. Using an eye pencil, fill in your brows with short strokes so that they look like tiny hairs. The other option is eye shadow. Eye shadow should be applied with a brush to the eyebrow and then blended in for a natural look. The most popular color to use is different shades of browns depending on how dark your eyebrows are. Black is rarely used as it is too harsh looking and often makes your brows look unnatural.
